New Ponemon Report: The Hidden Security Threat of Disconnected Apps | Download Now

Disconnected applications are business apps that can't be governed through your identity provider because they don't support standards like SAML, SSO, or SCIM. In a 2023 Ponemon Institute study of 595 IT and security practitioners, sponsored by Cerby, the average organization had 96 disconnected applications, and roughly half of them did not support single sign-on.
The research tied these apps to measurable risk. 52% of organizations had experienced a security incident caused by their inability to secure disconnected apps, and 47% had failed a regulatory compliance audit for the same reason. The work to manage them stays manual: an average of 84 apps require an admin to log in by hand to grant or revoke access, and provisioning plus deprovisioning a single employee runs about 15 hours and $937.50.
