About North Carolina - NC - State Unemployment
The fed.div.des.nc.gov portal is operated by the North Carolina Division of Employment Security (DES) to administer unemployment insurance claims for former federal civilian employees and, in some cases, ex-military service members residing in or having worked in North Carolina. It allows eligible individuals to file initial and continued claims for benefits under the Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees (UCFE) and Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Servicemembers (UCX) programs. The system verifies federal employment and wage history submitted by federal agencies to determine benefit eligibility and payment amounts. Claimants can use the platform to certify weekly eligibility, report job search activities, and check the status of their claims. State DES staff use the underlying system to coordinate with federal agencies for wage verification and to process payments in compliance with federal unemployment insurance regulations.
