About Keybase
Keybase is a security-focused messaging and file-sharing platform that uses end-to-end encryption to protect user communications. It links a person's online identities—such as Twitter, GitHub, or Reddit accounts—to a public cryptographic key, allowing others to verify who they are actually talking to. The service offers encrypted chat, encrypted group folders for file storage and sharing, and support for Bitcoin and Stellar cryptocurrency transactions. It is aimed at individuals, developers, and teams who need verifiable identity and encrypted collaboration without relying on centralized trust in a single provider. Keybase was acquired by Zoom Video Communications, which incorporated its encryption technology into Zoom's end-to-end encrypted meeting offerings.
