FONA is Venezuela's Fondo Nacional Antidrogas, the national anti-drug fund operating under the Ministry of Popular Power for Interior, Justice and Peace. Under the Organic Drug Law, qualifying companies must contribute a percentage of their operating profit, commonly one percent, to the fund. SIGAT is the fund's online collection and tax administration system, where contributors register, file declarations, and pay their required contribution or special contribution. Declarations must be submitted within a set window after each fiscal year closes, and the platform enforces registration by contributor type with supporting documentation. Users are Venezuelan companies subject to the levy along with their accountants and tax advisers managing compliance.
