DANE EMCES

EMCES is the Encuesta Mensual de Comercio and services survey program administered by DANE, Colombia's national statistics department. The platform is the electronic collection system through which selected retail, wholesale, and service establishments report monthly operating data. Reported figures typically cover sales, revenue, personnel, and salaries, which DANE uses to produce official indicators on commerce and services activity. Its users are the finance and administrative staff at surveyed establishments, along with DANE personnel who validate and process submissions. Data collected feeds Colombia's national accounts and short-term economic indicators used by government, businesses, and researchers.
