About AWS IAM User Account
AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a web service from Amazon Web Services that enables secure control of access to AWS resources. It allows administrators to create and manage individual user accounts, each with unique security credentials, rather than sharing root account access across an organization. IAM is designed for developers, system administrators, and enterprises that need to manage permissions for employees, applications, and services interacting with AWS infrastructure. Core capabilities include defining granular permissions through policies, grouping users with similar access needs, enabling multi-factor authentication, and integrating with existing corporate directories for federated access. The service supports the principle of least privilege by letting administrators specify exactly which AWS services and resources each user or role can access and under what conditions.
