From Complexity to Control (2025 SACR Report): Automating Enterprise IGA

From Complexity to Control: Using AI and Automation to Transform Enterprise IGA

Traditional IGA platforms like SailPoint and Saviynt govern access well for applications with modern APIs and SCIM, but they can't reach disconnected applications: the social, marketing, legacy, and on-prem tools that lack those integrations. Industry research puts this coverage gap at 30 to 50 percent of entitlements, and 58 percent of enterprises say their current tools cover less than half of their applications.

In a May 2025 analyst report, Software Analyst Cyber Research (SACR) examined how automation closes that gap and featured Cerby as one of three vendors extending governance to the long tail of applications. In the report's words, "Cerby augments existing IGA investments rather than replacing them," feeding entitlement data back into platforms like SailPoint and Saviynt so that provisioning, deprovisioning, and access certifications reach applications that were previously invisible.
